Hello All, We trust you all had a good summer. We had a busy but enjoyable summer. As we move into fall and the start of school, which in Haiti is October 1, we have been so blessed by all the wonderful donations and prayers. This has allowed us to send approx. $14,100 to pay for 9 students’ tuitions/school costs as well as school accessories for 25-30 students. This always provides much needed HOPE for these children and their parents. We have sent $10,000 so far for this school year for much needed feeding programs and are in the process of preparing to send more money to our 7 schools. We will also be sending money to help feed the children in the orphanage/foster home at HBS. This too gives the Priests and staff at HBS the HOPE they need to provide a hot meal for the students. The Priests tell us that when parents are looking for a school for their children they usually ask, “do you have a ‘canteen’ to provide a noon meal?” before they register.
HOPE is universal and very important around the world. HOPE is the main focus for us, and our board, which is why it is in our mission statement, and we use the word all the time.
It is responses like these from our Priest friends that help us work hard at “Keeping HOPE alive in Haiti.”
