On May 4th we held our first donor appreciation event at the Falstaff Center in Stratford. Loreena McKennitt graciously donated this lovely hall for the event. We were very pleased with the turnout of around 75 people and we were able to share with them our ongoing work in Haiti. This work continues even though we are unable to travel there, as we have trustworthy intermediaries (wonderful friends) we wire the money to. They provide the feeding programs for the schools they operate, along with tuitions/school costs for many students.
There was a lot of mingling, chatting, laughing, getting to know others in the room, cake and beverages. There was beautiful music provided by the Resurrection choir from St. Joseph’s Church, lead by Amanda Vander Ploeg with accompaniment by Stillman Matheson on the grand piano.
We are so blessed to have all the amazing, prayerful, caring people and financial supporters that Help Us Keep HOPE Alive in Haiti.
